The Trail Blazers are home to the Moda Center, a sports and entertainment center located in the heart of downtown Portland, Oregon, just blocks from Portland International Airport. In addition to the Trail Blazers, the Moda Center is also home to the Oregon Ducks, Portland State University and the University of Oregon basketball team.

LaMarcus Aldridge, who scored his season-best performance in the win over Dallas, leads the way into the playoffs.

Things didn't look good for Portland when they started the season 0-3 in their first six games. January brought good news for them, as they won 11 games and found themselves in a tie for second place in the Western Conference with the Golden State Warriors.

The Trail Blazers would finish the season with a 30-29 record and secure sixth place in the Western Conference playoffs. Brandon Roy, who was struggling after knee surgery, scored 16 points for the Blazers, who won 97-92 in Game 3 when the series moved to Portland. In Game 4, Damian Lillard had the game of his life when he scored 50 points in a 118-115 victory that ended the Thunder's winning streak.

Despite missing Roy, the Trail Blazers got off to a good start in the playoffs, beating the Phoenix Suns 105-100 in Game 1 on the road, with Andre Miller posting 31 points.

The Blazers' team record this season is 32-50. Portland selected the highly regarded Kevin Durant as the second pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. The drafting of Oden allowed the Blazers to move Zach Randolph to the New York Knicks for Channing Frye, making the first of two trades in three years for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Since Drexler, the Blazers have continued their playoff streak with three straight wins in the Eastern Conference finals and four appearances in the playoffs.

Injuries forced Roy into early retirement in 2011, and the Trail Blazers returned to the postseason for three consecutive years from 2008-09. The Blazers fell out of the race in 2011-12, but recovered the following season and advanced to the second round for the first time since 2000.
